Leaf Removal
Heavy fall rotations that keep leaves off the turf before they smother it. Hauled away, not blown next door.
Leaf removal in the Hudson Valley is a six-week sprint from late October through early December. We clear every leaf off turf and beds, load them into the truck, and haul them off the property. No piles left at the curb. No mess for the neighbors.
A lawn left under wet leaves for two weeks in November will show patches in May. That’s just how it works — leaves trap moisture, block sunlight, and grow the fungi that cause snow mold. Fall leaf removal isn’t cosmetic. It’s a protection pass for the turf underneath.
Our rotation schedule
The exact frequency depends on how heavily your property drops. A shaded lot with mature oaks and maples might need six full rotations. A mostly-open property might get away with three. We set the cadence based on what’s actually coming down week to week, not a calendar.
Hauled off, not mulched in place
Some services charge less for “mulch-mowing” — chopping the leaves up in place with a mower and leaving them. We don’t recommend it for heavy drops. A dense leaf load mulched back into the turf ferments under snow and creates exactly the problem we’re trying to prevent. We haul leaves off-property in every visit, period.
What about gutters?
Gutter sweeping is available as an add-on during any fall visit. We bring a ladder, an extension blower, and a tarp, and we clean what the roofline sheds. It keeps the drip-line clear through winter and the fascia board dry.
